Public Skating

Come Skate With Us!

Roseville Skating Center & MN OVAL currently offers both indoor & outdoor public skating times for patrons to enjoy leisure skating and open/pick-up hockey (outdoor only). Various dates and times available throughout the year. 

Outdoor activities & public skating sessions may be cancelled due to weather. Activities will be cancelled if temperatures reach -25 with windchill. Please check weather announcement on main page or call the weather line at 651-792-7191 (option 1).

Indoor Public Skating Rules

• Leisure skating only – no pucks or sticks allowed during public skating times

• All patrons participating in public skating session is required to pay fee; those watching or spectating, no fee required

• Skaters should skate in a counter-clockwise direction around the outside of the rink 

• Skate aids are available for those needed extra assistance

• No "snakes or chains" allowed – no tag or disrupting of other skaters on the ice

• Private lessons are not allowed on public skating ice

Outdoor Public Skating Rules

• Leisure skating on TRACK only- pucks and sticks allowed on the indoor rink area only (sticks & pucks are prohibited on track area)

• Raising of the puck and high sticking is prohibited

• Full pads and helmets are not required, but highly recommended for pick-up hockey on OVAL

• Leisure skaters should skate in a counter-clockwise direction around the outside of the OVAL

• No shoes, food or beverages allowed on the ice

• No “snakes or chains” allowed- no tag or distributing of other skaters on the ice

• Skaters must stay off outer blue pads and utilize entrance/exit gates to access the ice
